The Battle of the Century Johnson vs Jeffries 1910

Jack Johnson vs James J. Jeffries (1910) That was the biggest fight of the time and in it's day 45 rounds it was the battle of the century back then. The entire nation was taken back by this fight. What if we would of had social media back then or tv... 20,000 plus fans filled the seats for that epic battle in Reno, Nv. The fight was halted by Jeffries corner in the 15th round... Johnson earned the equivalent of 1.6 million for that fight... He was the Mayweather of his day.... He was quite controversial for his day as a fighter and champion of the world.....

How would a fighter like Jack Johnson due in today's world of boxing.... As far as his antics, he would more than likely fit right in.... He married 3 times, and his wife' were all 3 white...... He was the superstar of his day, earning large sums of money for appearances in movies and commercials. 

 Johnson was in incarcerated in 1912 for 1 year for violating the Mann Act... (Transporting women across state lines for immoral purposes)   While in prison he was ranted a patten for a tool that he invented. He had been up for a pardon, which he would fail on numerous occasions. In 2009, President Obama finally granted him a pardon almost 66 years after being convicted of a meaningless law.....

Johnson fought well  into his 60's and lost 7 or his last 9 professional fights..... He perished in an automobile accident in 1946... He was larger than life and he was the Mayweather of his time....
